Guide checked on 13 September 2026. Walking times are indicative: after a late train, a few hundred metres with a suitcase can matter more than a small difference in hotel style.

Gare du Nord is particularly practical for Eurostar, trains to northern France and the Paris transport network. RATP confirms Metro lines 4 and 5 and RER B and D at Gare du Nord, while SNCF Gares & Connexions lists Eurostar among the station’s mainline services.

For a late arrival or an early departure, we therefore prioritise real walking distance from the station, 24-hour reception and luggage storage.

The five hotels to compare

  • 25hours Hotel Terminus Nord: directly opposite the station.
  • Hotel Flanelles Paris: also opposite, in a more compact format.
  • Hôtel Hor Europe: around 120 metres from Gare du Nord Metro.
  • Hotel Whistler - Gare du Nord: between Gare du Nord and Gare de l’Est.
  • Hotel Le Rocroy: around five minutes on foot, slightly set back.

25hours Hotel Terminus Nord — the obvious post-train choice

25hours Hotel Terminus Nord on Booking.com is on Boulevard de Denain facing Gare du Nord. Booking.com showed 8.5/10 from more than 3,500 reviews and 9.3 for location.

A restaurant, bar, 24-hour front desk and lift make it especially straightforward after a late arrival.

Accept that: you are choosing the convenience of a major station district. If you want silent residential streets, this is a different kind of stay.

Hotel Flanelles Paris — opposite the station

Hotel Flanelles Paris on Booking.com is on Rue de Dunkerque opposite Gare du Nord. Booking.com showed 8.5/10 from more than 2,100 reviews and 9.2 for location. Rooms are listed as air-conditioned and soundproofed, with 24-hour reception and luggage storage.

Why choose it: a few minutes saved can be valuable after a late Eurostar.

Check: the room orientation and real noise level, particularly for street-facing rooms.

Hôtel Hor Europe — very close, with a small garden

Hôtel Hor Europe on Booking.com is on Rue La Fayette. Its listing places it roughly 120 metres from Gare du Nord and showed 8.7/10 from around 3,500 reviews, with 9.1 for location.

The hotel lists a 24-hour front desk, terrace, small garden and soundproofed rooms.

Best for: staying a couple of minutes from the station without being directly on its forecourt.

Hotel Whistler - Gare du Nord — between the two stations

Hotel Whistler - Gare du Nord on Booking.com is on Rue de Saint-Quentin between Gare du Nord and Gare de l’Est. Booking.com showed 8.4/10 from more than 1,000 reviews and 9.1 for location. The listing also mentions a hammam that can be privatised under certain conditions.

Why choose it: useful if your trip combines Eurostar with a train from Gare de l’Est, or if you simply want access to both stations.

Hotel Le Rocroy — five minutes on foot, slightly removed

Hotel Le Rocroy on Booking.com is listed at around five minutes on foot from Gare du Nord. Booking.com showed 8.2/10 from more than 2,400 reviews. The property lists air conditioning, a lift, luggage storage and reception services.

Why choose it: you remain very close to the train without sleeping directly opposite the station.

Is Gare du Nord a good base for a whole Paris stay?

Gare du Nord is first and foremost an excellent logistics district. For one night, an early Eurostar or a late arrival, staying here can be more rational than crossing Paris with luggage.

For three or four sightseeing nights, compare it with the Marais, Latin Quarter or Opéra in our Where to stay in Paris: the best neighbourhoods for your trip guide. The best hotel for the train is not automatically the best sightseeing base for every traveller.
