A project for planning a trip

Portovierno is an editorial travel project covering Europe and Morocco, starting with Paris. It is for French- and English-speaking readers looking for clear itineraries, places to stay and useful travel equipment.

Our aim is to explain both the advantages and the trade-offs of a choice, without promising a perfect trip. Portovierno does not take bookings or collect travel payments.

Who writes and reviews the content?

Guides are signed by Niz Ben, Portovierno’s author handle. Niz has lived in both France and Morocco, is now based in Paris and travels regularly to Marrakech, where they have a rental property. Those recurring journeys, alongside stays in Casablanca and Bordeaux, provide lived context for coverage of neighbourhoods, arrivals and travel between the two countries. Read the profile and signed work on the author page.

That experience does not replace documentary verification: every guide must distinguish sourced information, editorial judgement and personal experience. The publisher and publication director are still to complete in the legal notice. We do not present invented qualifications or unverified expertise.

Research, sources and experience

Practical advice should prioritise official sources, first-hand information and dated documents. Information supplied by a hotel remains that hotel’s statement unless independently verified.

We describe a stay, test or visit as personal experience only when it actually happened. Otherwise, the article explains that it is based on desk research. Opening hours, entry conditions and prices should be checked with the relevant organisation before booking.

How do our comparisons work?

The current tables present illustrative stay profiles, with no partner properties, bookable prices or commercial rankings. Search filters narrow the demonstration results; they do not calculate quality rankings.

For future selections, criteria will be defined before properties are chosen: location, transport, facilities, trip type, constraints and documented budget. Each comparison must explain its display order, non-exhaustive scope, the number of properties and sources compared, verification date and update method.

A property may be included when it fits the article and has verifiable information. It may be removed if it closes, its information can no longer be verified, or it no longer meets the stated criteria. Significant removals should be explained.

Commission size must not determine a favourable opinion or editorial position. Relevant commercial or ownership relationships must be disclosed. Purchased placements must be labelled as advertisements. Our affiliate disclosure explains more.

Independence and hosted experiences

A partner cannot buy a favourable conclusion or have a supported criticism removed. A better option should not be excluded because it has no affiliate programme.

A hosted stay, gift, invitation or sponsored article must be disclosed in the relevant content, close to the recommendation. These commitments apply when partnerships begin; no affiliate programme is active at this stage.

Artificial intelligence and images

AI may help organise research, prepare drafts, translate or edit. It is not a factual source. A person must check the information and take responsibility for the content before publication.

The prototype’s images are AI-generated illustrations. They are not evidence of a visit or an exact representation of a place or hotel. Future imagery must be authorised for its intended use, and its illustrative nature disclosed when it could affect a reader’s decision.

Translation, updates and corrections

French and English editions must convey the same facts and commercial disclosures in natural language. Substantive corrections must be reflected in both editions.

Each final article must identify its author and verification date and, where needed, carry a correction note. A layout change alone does not justify suggesting all facts have been checked again.

To suggest a correction, provide a source or report an accessibility barrier, see our contact page.
